First chatsession on February 18th, from 20:00 - 22:00 hrs

During the past week much effort has been put to prepare virtual Zoetermeer, for the time being consisting of The Market, for the upcoming election. All political parties have a booth at the market place containing all kind of information about the party and aboput its program.

Of course, representatives of the parties will be at times present at the market, and be prepaired to discuss all kind of subjects with the visitors. Visitors may chat with each other, not only via the normal chat option, but also using the voice chat function.

Thursday evening from 20:00-22:00 hrs, the first voice chat session has been organised. All political parties will be present on the market place to communicate with the visitors. The upcoming days more of these sessions will follow. Anouncement at the Mandelabridge

The city of Zoetermeer has put a lot of effort in informating the inhabitants about these activities. Over 3000 flyers have been distributed over the city. A special web site has been introduced and linked to the virtual marketplace. And last but not least the link is displayed very visible on the famous Mandela Bridge.

Virtual Zoetermeer has been build on the VirtuoCity technology which gives very low entry levels for visitors. The developers are therefore very pleased with the fact that Rien van der Meer a regular visitor is of virtual Zoetermeer. She is proud of her doughter (Marijke) who is active for the party "Leefbaar Zoetermeer", but also proud  of the fact that she, aging 81 years, is very well able to use the computer and the internet.
